The COMET has announced an exciting new plan to expand the Blue Bike SC program in the City of Columbia. The COMET will be funding 8 brand-new stations to expand mobility options across the city. To complement the funding of the station expansion, funds have also been allocated to Blue Bike as a pilot to provide a “first mile, last mile” connection specifically for The COMET riders utilizing bike share.
In an exciting new initiative, The COMET will also be subsidizing its riders holding a 1-Day, 5-Day, 7-Day, 31-Day or a 10-Ride pass to ride Blue Bike. The COMET riders will not need to pay for use of Blue Bike SC. The COMET passholders wanting to use bike share simply need to ask the bus operator for a code to input at the kiosks, online or on the Blue Bike SC app. This development will serve to grow the bike share system’s user base and increase mobility options for transit riders across the region.
Bewegen CEO, Alain Ayotte released the following statement about this exciting new development:
Bewegen Technologies would like to thank The COMET for their commitment to growing sustainable mobility options across the City of Columbia.
